Top-rated independent heating and cooling across southern Nevada and the desert Southwest

Emergency AC Repair

Emergency AC repair is same-day work on a system that has quit cooling when the outside temperature makes waiting unsafe. We handle it for homeowners across Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah, on both split systems and rooftop package units. If your air conditioner has stopped, check the thermostat setting and batteries, look for a tripped breaker, and swap a clogged filter. If those look fine, call us and tell us what the unit is doing. Keep the house closed up and shaded while you wait, and drink water.

Whether you call it emergency air conditioner repair or emergency HVAC service, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.

What an emergency air conditioning repair involves

We start with the symptom you describe, then confirm it at the equipment. That means checking whether the outdoor unit is running, whether the indoor blower is moving air, and what the temperature split across the coil looks like. On rooftop package units we get up top and inspect the whole cabinet, since one unit holds everything. Most failures on a brutal afternoon come down to a handful of parts. We tell you what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long it holds.

What we check on an air conditioner that quit in the heat

Capacitors, contactors, condenser fan motors and compressor windings are the usual suspects when a system trips off in high heat. We also check refrigerant pressures, low-voltage control wiring, the condensate drain, and the condenser coil itself. Dust and blown grit pack those coil fins solid across the region, and a smothered coil pushes head pressure until the system shuts down to protect itself. Cleaning that coil is sometimes the whole repair. We carry common parts so many calls finish in one visit.

How we decide it is a true emergency

If the indoor temperature is climbing and there are small children, older adults, pets or anyone with a health condition in the house, it goes to the front of the line. Same for water coming through a ceiling from a blocked drain pan, or a burning smell from the air handler. A system that still cools but sounds rough can usually wait for a scheduled slot, and we will say so. If you smell gas, leave the building, call 911 or the gas utility from outside, then call us.

Emergency AC Repair — quick answers

My AC breaker tripped. Can I just reset it?

You can reset it once. If it trips again, stop and call us. Repeated tripping means a shorted motor, a failing compressor or a wiring fault, and resetting it over and over risks damage and fire.

Can you work on a rooftop package unit the same day?

Usually yes. Rooftop units are common across the region and we are set up for roof access. Tell us the age of the unit and whether the blower is still running, and we will bring likely parts.

What can I do to stay cool until you arrive?

Close blinds on sun-facing windows, keep doors shut, run ceiling fans and drink water. Turn the thermostat to off rather than leaving it calling for cooling, so a frozen coil has a chance to thaw.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and whether the outdoor unit is running. That tells us which parts and gauges to load on the truck before we leave.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

We check the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow, refrigerant pressures, and the condenser coil. Desert dust plugs coils and dying capacitors are common. You get the finding in plain words before we touch a part.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and measure supply air temperature and amp draw so we know it is actually cooling or heating. We tell you what we saw and what to watch for next season.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know rooftop unitsHalf the valley has a package unit on the roof, baking all summer. We are up there regularly, so we know how those cabinets fail, where the drain pans rust, and how heat and sun break down wiring and blower assemblies.
  • Dust is the local enemyFine desert dust mats onto condenser coils and chokes airflow, and the system runs hot until something gives up. We check the coil on every call and tell you honestly whether cleaning will fix your cooling problem.
  • July gets treated like JulyA dead condenser when it is 112 outside is not a routine call. We prioritise homes with no cooling, and we say clearly when we can be there instead of leaving you guessing all afternoon.
  • Heating tooDesert nights get cold and furnaces sit unused for months. We do heater repair and furnace repair, including no-ignition problems, bad igniters, and blowers that hum without moving air. Same straight explanation, no upsell speech.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
