Top-rated independent heating and cooling across southern Nevada and the desert Southwest

UV Lights & Ventilation

We install and service UV lights and ventilation upgrades inside residential HVAC systems across Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. This work targets the biological side of indoor air quality: mold on a damp evaporator coil, musty air out of the vents, stale rooms in a house sealed up tight against summer heat. If your air smells off even with a fresh filter, or a bedroom never seems to breathe, call us and we will look at the coil, the ductwork and the airflow before recommending anything.

What the job involves

A UV installation puts a lamp inside the air handler or plenum where it shines on the evaporator coil, the spot that stays wet all cooling season and grows mold. Ventilation work is different. There we look at bringing measured fresh air in or exhausting stale air out, usually through duct modifications, a dedicated intake or bath and range fans that actually move air. Both jobs start with the system you already have. We open the cabinet, look at the coil and measure airflow before we quote a thing.

What we check or install

We inspect the evaporator coil for biological growth and dust cake, check the drain pan and condensate line for standing water, and look at filter fit and duct sealing since leaky returns pull in attic dust. For UV, we size the lamp to the cabinet, mount it with a line of sight to the coil, and wire it to safe access. For ventilation, we verify existing exhaust fans move air, check duct runs to closed-off rooms, and confirm the blower can handle added outside air.

How we decide it is the right call

UV lights help with what grows on a wet coil. They do nothing for dust, and in our region dust is often the real problem, so we will tell you if a better filter and sealed returns solve more than a lamp would. Ventilation makes sense when a house is tight, humidity lingers in bathrooms, or cooking smells hang around for hours. If the coil is clean and airflow measures fine, we say so and skip the upsell. Honest answer beats an added part.

UV Lights & Ventilation — quick answers

Will a UV light stop the dust in my house?

No. UV works on mold and bacteria growing on damp surfaces inside the system. Dust needs filtration and sealed ductwork. In dry, dusty areas that is usually the bigger fix, and we will tell you straight.

How often do UV lamps need replacing?

Most lamps lose useful output after roughly a year or two even while still glowing, so replacement is on a schedule rather than on failure. We note the install date and check the lamp during regular AC maintenance visits.

Can added ventilation make my cooling bills worse?

Bringing outside air in during extreme heat does add load, which is why we size it carefully and often tie it to controls that run at cooler hours. We measure your blower capacity before adding any outside air.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and whether the outdoor unit is running. That tells us which parts and gauges to load on the truck before we leave.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

We check the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow, refrigerant pressures, and the condenser coil. Desert dust plugs coils and dying capacitors are common. You get the finding in plain words before we touch a part.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and measure supply air temperature and amp draw so we know it is actually cooling or heating. We tell you what we saw and what to watch for next season.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know rooftop unitsHalf the valley has a package unit on the roof, baking all summer. We are up there regularly, so we know how those cabinets fail, where the drain pans rust, and how heat and sun break down wiring and blower assemblies.
  • Dust is the local enemyFine desert dust mats onto condenser coils and chokes airflow, and the system runs hot until something gives up. We check the coil on every call and tell you honestly whether cleaning will fix your cooling problem.
  • July gets treated like JulyA dead condenser when it is 112 outside is not a routine call. We prioritise homes with no cooling, and we say clearly when we can be there instead of leaving you guessing all afternoon.
  • Heating tooDesert nights get cold and furnaces sit unused for months. We do heater repair and furnace repair, including no-ignition problems, bad igniters, and blowers that hum without moving air. Same straight explanation, no upsell speech.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
