Gas Furnace Repair

We repair gas furnaces in homes across Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah, from a burner that will not light to a blower that runs cold air all night. If your furnace short cycles, smells odd, trips its own safety switch or simply stops producing heat, call us and describe what you are seeing. If you smell gas at any point, leave the building first, call 911 or your gas utility from outside, then call us. Before you call, you can check thermostat batteries and settings, the breaker and the filter.

What a gas furnace repair actually involves

A gas furnace burns fuel to heat air, then a blower pushes that air through your ducts. Repair work means finding which part of that chain broke. We watch a full heating cycle: the call for heat, the igniter, the burners, the flame sensor proving the flame, then the blower coming on. A furnace that lights and quits a minute later is telling us something different than one that never lights at all. We work on the gas and high voltage side ourselves, because those are not homeowner jobs.

What we check on a heating repair call

We start at the thermostat and the filter, since a clogged filter overheats a furnace and trips its limit switch. From there we look at the igniter or pilot assembly, the flame sensor, the gas valve, the pressure switch, the inducer motor, the blower motor and capacitor, and the wiring and control board. We inspect the heat exchanger and the flue for cracks, rust or blockage, because that is a combustion safety issue. Then we tell you what failed and what the fix is.

How we decide repair is the right call

We look at what broke, how old the furnace is, and whether the rest of the unit is sound. A flame sensor, igniter or capacitor on an otherwise healthy furnace is a straightforward heater repair. A cracked heat exchanger is different, and we will recommend shutting the unit down rather than patching around a combustion problem. On rooftop package units carrying both heating and cooling, we also factor in the condition of the cooling side, since one cabinet serves the whole year. You get the reasoning, then you choose.

Gas Furnace Repair — quick answers

My gas furnace lights, then shuts off after a minute. Why?

That pattern usually points to the flame sensor, the pressure switch or a limit switch reacting to restricted airflow. Change the filter and make sure vents are open. If it keeps cycling, call us for a heating repair visit.

Is a gas smell near my furnace an emergency?

Yes. Leave the building, take everyone with you, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or search for the source. Once the utility clears the home, call us and we will inspect the furnace.

Can you repair the heating side of a rooftop package unit?

Yes. Those cabinets hold the furnace section and the cooling section together, so we service both. We handle the burners, igniter, blower and controls up there, and we check the cooling side while we have the panels off.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and whether the outdoor unit is running. That tells us which parts and gauges to load on the truck before we leave.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

We check the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow, refrigerant pressures, and the condenser coil. Desert dust plugs coils and dying capacitors are common. You get the finding in plain words before we touch a part.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and measure supply air temperature and amp draw so we know it is actually cooling or heating. We tell you what we saw and what to watch for next season.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know rooftop unitsHalf the valley has a package unit on the roof, baking all summer. We are up there regularly, so we know how those cabinets fail, where the drain pans rust, and how heat and sun break down wiring and blower assemblies.
  • Dust is the local enemyFine desert dust mats onto condenser coils and chokes airflow, and the system runs hot until something gives up. We check the coil on every call and tell you honestly whether cleaning will fix your cooling problem.
  • July gets treated like JulyA dead condenser when it is 112 outside is not a routine call. We prioritise homes with no cooling, and we say clearly when we can be there instead of leaving you guessing all afternoon.
  • Heating tooDesert nights get cold and furnaces sit unused for months. We do heater repair and furnace repair, including no-ignition problems, bad igniters, and blowers that hum without moving air. Same straight explanation, no upsell speech.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
