Top-rated independent heating and cooling across southern Nevada and the desert Southwest

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers

We install and service whole-home dehumidifiers that tie into your ducted HVAC system and pull moisture out of the air in every room, not one corner of one room. Homeowners across Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah call us when monsoon season turns the house clammy, when windows sweat, when a swamp cooler leaves things damp, or when the AC runs and the air still feels heavy. Call us and describe what you are noticing, room by room, and we will come measure the humidity before we recommend anything.

What the job involves

A whole-home dehumidifier is a sealed cabinet with its own coil and blower, mounted near your air handler or in a mechanical space, ducted so it treats air moving through the system. We size it to the square footage and the moisture load, cut and seal the supply and return connections, run a condensate drain to a proper termination, and wire in a humidistat control you can actually read. Most installs take a day. On rooftop package unit homes we work out the duct path first, because access changes everything.

What we check and install

Before we quote equipment we measure relative humidity in several rooms, check static pressure and airflow, look at duct sealing, and find out where the moisture is coming from. Sometimes it is a crawlspace, a bathroom fan venting into the attic, or an oversized AC that short cycles and never dries the air. We check the drain line and pan while we are in there. If a dehumidifier is the answer, we install the unit, the ducting, the drain, and the control, then test it against a meter.

How we decide it is the right call

We look for humidity that stays above the comfortable range with the AC running normally. Sticky air at a reasonable thermostat setting, musty smells, condensation on glass or supply registers, warped doors, or allergy symptoms that ease when you leave the house all point the same direction. If the real problem is a leaking duct, a failing coil, or a system too large for the home, we say so and fix that instead. A dehumidifier should solve a moisture problem, not cover for a mechanical one.

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers — quick answers

Will my AC alone control humidity?

An AC removes some moisture as a side effect of cooling. In humid stretches, or when the system is oversized and cycles off quickly, it cannot keep up. A dehumidifier runs independently of the cooling call.

Where does the water go?

To a condensate drain we run to an approved termination, usually an existing drain line or a condensate pump. There is no bucket to empty. We check that drain during every maintenance visit.

Does it work with a swamp cooler?

Evaporative coolers add moisture by design, so pairing the two fights itself. We would rather look at your whole setup and talk about what the house actually needs before installing anything.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form. We ask what changed, when it started, and whether the outdoor unit is running. That tells us which parts and gauges to load on the truck before we leave.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

We check the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow, refrigerant pressures, and the condenser coil. Desert dust plugs coils and dying capacitors are common. You get the finding in plain words before we touch a part.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and verify

We make the repair, then run the system and measure supply air temperature and amp draw so we know it is actually cooling or heating. We tell you what we saw and what to watch for next season.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know rooftop unitsHalf the valley has a package unit on the roof, baking all summer. We are up there regularly, so we know how those cabinets fail, where the drain pans rust, and how heat and sun break down wiring and blower assemblies.
  • Dust is the local enemyFine desert dust mats onto condenser coils and chokes airflow, and the system runs hot until something gives up. We check the coil on every call and tell you honestly whether cleaning will fix your cooling problem.
  • July gets treated like JulyA dead condenser when it is 112 outside is not a routine call. We prioritise homes with no cooling, and we say clearly when we can be there instead of leaving you guessing all afternoon.
  • Heating tooDesert nights get cold and furnaces sit unused for months. We do heater repair and furnace repair, including no-ignition problems, bad igniters, and blowers that hum without moving air. Same straight explanation, no upsell speech.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
